Prinsjes Festival is held annually in The Hague, in the week before and on Prinsjesdag. During the Prinsjes festival we celebrate that we are a democracy. In other words, a country in which everyone counts and matters to everyone. Therefore, the festival includes both substantive and festive activities. This is how we make Prinsjes festival a feast for everyone. From political parties to people who visit the Hague especially for the conviviality. From students to families. And of course many political leaders. This year the Hollands Historisch Festijn is for the first time a partner of the Prinsjesfestival. The Prince’s Breakfast is on Saturday along the Hofvijver where there is also the Historical Camp and the “8 Queens from 200 years of Kingdom” will explain how we get to Prince’s Day. The Democratic Challenge with 100 women at the Constitution Bank to perpetuate “100 years of Electoral Rights” is also part of the Hat Stroll (Prinsjesdag’s Hat Walk). In this way we offer a program of History, Ceremony and Democracy together. Past, Present and Future go hand in hand.
